School Reopening: What to expect in the initial days?

  • Expect social distancing practice in the class. The classes may get rescheduled, or fewer students per class will be allowed.
  • Expect a hygienic environment. Since last year, the attitude towards healthcare and self-hygiene has changed a lot. Students and Teachers will be asked to carry a sanitizer and wash their hands frequently.
  • Face masks will be a must for students and teachers (with only one or zero covid vaccination). Entry without masks will not be allowed or fined.
  • Expect change in extra-curricular activities, physical education programmes, and related opportunities. In some cases, limited access will be given.
  • It will be difficult for schools to conduct group activities; collaborative learning in physical presence will be avoided as much as possible.
  • Students may be restricted from visiting outside the classroom during recess time. Also, the recess timings may be shifted by 5-10 minutes for different classes to avoid crowding in the common areas such as Washrooms, Drinking Water Point.
  • School campuses will be cleaned frequently to maintain hygiene and disinfect common areas such as playground, assembly point, classroom desks, washrooms, and more.
  • If any student or faculty tests positive for covid-19, they will have to take proper treatment. People who unknowingly came in contact with covid patients recently will have to stay away from school for at least two weeks or more.
  • Expect limited or no entry for parents, non-necessary visitors, volunteers inside the school premises.
  • Expect an option for study from home for students in special cases such as illness, close contact with covid-19 patients, and more.
