Career Options after 12th Science

It is said that the 12th standard is a life-changing year for the students. Perhaps, true. There are many challenges in the path to success, and the constant pressure to perform well makes it more challenging for students. Well, some students come prepared for it. Whenever we discuss career choices of Science students, many of them sound very focused on a career field. However, there are considerably more students with less or no clue about how to build a successful career with science. The problem here is the drastic change in the syllabus post 10th standard. Many of the students test the waters if they can do it. It’s always good to give it an attempt. When students know the career options in science thoroughly, they focus better on specific subject requirements. This is why it is very important to get career guidance at this stage.

If you are one of those 12th Science students or making your mind to take science post 10th standard, this blog will take you deeper into career scopes with your PCM, PCB, and PCMB subjects. Relax, these are just abbreviations of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology- the core subjects in Science. Let’s start knowing the options one by one.

Good Career Options In Science Stream

MEDICAL STUDIES

Students who are interested in becoming doctors can unlock their career success with MBBS, BAMS, and related medical courses. There are many fields, and specializations under medical studies such as Cardiology (Study of Heart), Ophthalmology (Study of Eyes), Pediatrics (Study of Food & Nutrition), and the list goes on. You can take the mainstream career of MBBS and then MS, MD, or focus on subsidiary fields such as Radiology, Pathology Experts, etc. Veterinary is another yet similar field of medical studies. It is the study of Animal Healthcare. Well, there are lots of opportunities, but students must remember that medical studies are not limited to the course years. It is an on-going process. Doctors need to stay updated with the latest development in medical science. Also, most of the doctors live a very unscheduled life. They need to be present for emergency cases 24*7. This profession is highly respectable and has a bright future. So, if you are willing to do this for your whole life, definitely go for it.

ENGINEERING

If you are always fascinated by the manufacturing, processing of products, and services, engineering can be your true calling. There are many options, even under engineering. You can go to mainstream Mechanical Engineering, Civil, Electrical, or Software engineering. Also, there is a huge scope in Data Engineering in the future. Many other engineering specializations are in – Metallurgy, Chemicals, Petroleum, Control engineering, Instrumental, Mechatronics, Food Processing, etc.

One point to consider here is that the Indian market is full of engineers. There is a high unemployment ratio, and people often take up odd jobs to help their ends meet. So, our advice is to go for engineering courses that are still unsaturated. Not only your competition will be less, but the chances of rapid success also increase.

BSC & MSC

BSC stands for Bachelor’s in Science and MSC is Masters in Science. These courses are not as glamorized as Engineering & MBBS, but it can open doors to a horizon full of careers. If we talk on the major front, it is an advanced study of the subjects that you learn in the 12th standard. For example, Botany is a small part of your 12th syllabus, whereas, in BSC, you can pursue it and learn about it in a broader way. The same pattern applies to other important science fields such as Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Agriculture, Data Science, Nautical Science, Information Technology, and more. Most of the BSC & MSC students start their career in the Research & Development sector of their respective specialization. If you have a flayer for teaching, this is your path. People who love and understand science deeply can become a good teacher. After all, we all need someone to teach us proficiently. Due to our qualified faculty, we are the best junior college in Palghar.

AVIATION

Who doesn’t love to fly? Well, if being a Pilot is your dream, aviation is the way to fulfil it. Students need to study Aviation and take Commercial Pilot’s Training to get the license finally. However, your career takeoff may have to undergo a lot of tests before you chase the clouds. Physical Fitness is one of the most important criteria in aviation. Another factor is the high costs of the courses. If you can invest the right amount in this field, then don’t shy away from this opportunity to fly. Also, there is another way to become a pilot and contribute to the nation by joining the Indian Air Force. Students who are not interested in becoming a Pilot but Airport Management fascinates them, can also try their luck in Ground Engineering & Aviation Maintenance courses. These are responsible and one of the highly paid jobs.

MANAGEMENT

Every science-related business does not require scientists sitting and the lab experimenting. Some need it to manage the business as well. However, the skill sets that they require are a blend of science & management. Assume a Salesperson of a Pharma Company. He may not be the person who was involved in the process of medicine development. However, he can explain the functionalities to the customers, doctors. Management and science skill sets are very important for such organizations. They end up paying huge salaries to people who understand their terminologies and synchronize the company process. You can do good in management with science as your background. An MBA degree after your graduation in BSC can give a good career push.

These science fields are just the tip of the iceberg. Science is infinite, and so is the scope to study it. You cannot ever wholly learn science. It will continue surprising us  with new innovations, natural phenomenons, discoveries every day. So, find your true calling before you get confused at the end moment. It is tough to determine, but you can ultimately choose the right field. All you need is the proper guidance in your foundation years 11th & 12th.Sanskruti World Junior College pays special attention to students and helps them prepare for the journey of career success.
